My first pair had issues of the seam/stitching tearing between the cuff and glove within a year. I tried a second pair (bought in Jan) and they have already developed holes in a few fingertips. It's only been a few months of beekeeping with 30 colonies...
I REALLY want these to work, since the fit, breathability, and sting-resistance are great (only 1 sting through the glove), but I'm hesitant to shell out another $30-40 if the 3rd pair are not going to last either!
Just got two pairs of gloves for myself and my son. The construction looks to be top notch.
Having used the Apis Tactical gloves a couple times now I can honestly say these are going to be my go to beekeeping gloves for the foreseeable future. They are comfortable and allow me too do any and all beekeeping work I have to do since they allow for all the "feeling" I need in order to manipulate bees and frames.
did not provide the protection I expected. I was stung thru the leather on my wrist and hand, and thru the raised portion on my fingers.
I manage 20-30 colonies in NC, and have tried EVERY glove I can think of (latex, nitrile, leather gauntlet, etc.). My issues have always been proper fit (short stubby fingers), feel, and sweat! I bought this Apis Tactical glove last year and used them for one entire season. Functioned great! Fit perfectly, great dexterity, ZERO stings, and no sweating issues.
My only complaint is in the construction/durability of the glove. The leather on my palms has just about worn through, and the stitching connecting the wrist band to the leather has failed on my right hand. For the price of these gloves, I was definitely expecting them to last SEVERAL seasons - not just one...
