I really like these gloves. The quality of the leather is very nice. I wore them to a beekeepers meeting and everyone asked about them. I love the fit and style of these. They have excellent bee sting protection too.
Awesome!! These gloves are great. They are good protection, yet are flexible enough to work with the frames. Bought a pair for my partner.
I love these gloves but I have two issues with them. First, the hole developed after only two months of use in July and August. Second, the gloves turn your hands orange due to the leather dyes they use to make them look good when new. I would skip dying the leather and leave it natural so that won’t happen. I’m still going to buy these gloves again. Cannot beat the comfort/cool look/dexterity of the gloves. I would also recommend buying one size bigger than what you normally wear because they seem to run small.
Great gloves
This is a follow up to my initial review. Now that I have used these gloves all summer managing about 30 colonies, I can say that I really like them. They are my go to glove when going to the bee yard. I thought the short cuff might be a problem, but it really wasn't as long as I made sure my sleeve covered the cuff. They are comfortable and give me the dexterity that I want when working bees.
The gloves are not sting proof. I have been stung in the back of the hand through the mesh,, through the leather and through the elastic on the cuff. Stings are rare, and the dexterity of the gloves are worth the risk to me.
I was hoping to get a few years out of these gloves, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen now, as I have worn a hole in the right thumb. I didn't notice the hole until I burned my thumb on my OA vaporizer!. I will continue with these for as long as I can, but I really expected these gloves to last longer than 5 months. I'm managing about 30 colonies so the gloves are being used a day or two every week, not every day.
I will most likely order another pair, but I am disappointed these didn't last longer.
